This video series is a little different. This is one our of the first attempts by one of our church goers to record JD's Sermon. This is one of the only 3 remaining videos of these first recording attempts. This is Part # 8 of a 10 part teaching which is one of JD's most popular teachings titled, "The End of the World Series", because this is Jesus answer to the disciples questions about, when and how will be the destruction of the temple, the end of the age, the end of the world, and Jesus own return. While most all of this 10 part series was recorded, only part #'s 6, 8, & 10 survived. This was recorded from a camcorder on a tripod on top of the piano, with only the built in microphone (I cleaned up the sound track a little). This series was part of our chapter by chapter and verse by verse study through the Book of Matthew. The series was taken from chapter 24 & 25. This part (#8) is from Matthew 25:1-13. This series, is what led our church to begin doing our weekly Mid-East Bible Prophecy Updates, which comprise the bulk of our other video releases. Again, it occurred to me that most Christians out there and probably all non-believers, have never seen or heard the Bible actually being taught. I know I never really did before I found Calvary Chapel. I think it would be good for people to see and hear and study and learn. It is not pulling a bunch of verses together to prove the point we selected. It is simply teaching the Bible through verse by verse and trying to hear and study and learn what guy is trying to say to us. So take a look. Take a listen. Maybe you'll be surprised. Maybe you'll love it. Maybe you'll see that all scripture is given... Maybe you'll find out why God gave us this book and grow to know and love Him (more?), after all like Jesus said:And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3) We pray you all will open your hearts and minds to God's Holy Spirit and hang on for the ride though this video release and even on to Jesus' soon return to catch us up in to meet Him in the air before the beginning of the great Tribulation and time of Jacob's trouble. As always, we teach the Bible because it is alive and powerful and able to make us perfect! This is one (1) part of an eight (8) part video release (although you may notice I thought I could get it down to seven segments most of the way thru editing). This teaching, along with all of JD's teachings was originally presented & recorded at our services at Calvary Chapel of Kaneohe, where we usually teach chapter by chapter & verse by verse thru the Bible. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any extra oil with them, while the wise ones took containers full of oil for their lamps. The bridegroom was late in coming, so they began to nod and fall asleep. "It was already midnight when the cry rang out, 'Here is the bridegroom! Come and meet him!' The ten young women woke up and trimmed their lamps. Then the foolish ones said to the wise ones, 'Let us have some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.' 'No, indeed,' the wise ones answered, 'there is not enough for you and for us. Go to the store and buy some for yourselves.' So the foolish ones went off to buy some oil; and while they were gone, the bridegroom arrived. The five who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was closed. "Later the others arrived. 'Sir, sir! Let us in!' they cried out. 'Certainly not! I don't know you,' the bridegroom answered."
